What is true about mitosis?
Text Solution
Verified by ExpertsThe correct answer is:
In some lower plants and in some social insects haploid cells also divide by mitosis. Mitosis usually results in the production of diploid daughter cells with identical genetic complement. Meiosis involves two sequential cycles of nuclear and cell division called meiosis I and meiosis II but only a single cycle of DNA replication. Daughter cells resulted from meiosis have half the number of chromosomes as compared to the parent cell.
